PARENTING WITH LOVE & LOGIC

I just finished reading this book: Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood and I love it! Isn't it interesting that we all read a bunch of books when we are pregnant (at least I did) and then we don't really read much more after we actually have our children? I thought this was a great book to help know how to handle situations with our toddlers and be a better parent. This exact book is geared toward children from birth to six years, but they also have another expanded version for all ages and another for teenagers (and another for teachers to use in the classroom). The other neat thing about this book is that they have people who teach classes on the Love and Logic principles throughout the country. Go to their website and check it out. I found that it is best to call their 800 number and ask someone what classes are in your area and they will let you know. I plan to take them this fall with my husband. (800) 338-4065.

My husband and I took a number of parenting classes including Love and Logic. We learned many techniques that worked great. I tried to capture the best parenting techniques we found in this seven lesson online course:

You can try out lesson 1 for free if you would like.

That is so funny, I was just telling my friend the other night that I'm a little clueless as to what's "right" to do in certain situations with Tate. I read like crazy when I was pregnant, and haven't picked up a book since! I feel like she's getting her personality- the good & bad, and I don't know what I'm doing! Do you have any other book recomendations for this? I heard What to Expect when they're 1...2...3 is good. Have you read that?

I love L&L! The book on tape has been helpful to get me and hubby on the same page, but a class would be even better.

I have this book and I've seen the DVDs. Both are full of priceless information. I finally feel prepared to deal with my two-year-old's emerging personality the right way, which is not necessarily the way I was raised. Must read for any parent. I give the book as baby shower gifts.
