Have you seen the darling Santa Dollars for sale in your area? They are real United States currency with a sticker of Santa in the middle that can be removed. They are $2.50 and the extra $1.50 goes toward a charity in your area. In Utah the money goes to Primary Children's hospital. They are at various locations throughout the United States. You can check out the details on their website. I believe they are at Sam's Clubs and Walmarts in Utah. I bought mine at a Sam's Club. I doubt you need to be a member to buy them. Just go to customer service.

My cousin's husband told me about Mozy. A website to backup your home computer on. You can get 2 gb of free space or pay $5 a month per computer for unlimited space. It is the best I have found. Other websites charge an amount per memory space. This is one flat fee.

Awhile ago my computer crashed and I was able to get all of my data back by just going on and downloading everything I had backed up. It was so great!

My son started watching Leap Frog Letter Factory when he was just a few months over 2 years old and he loved it! I was amazed that after a week of watching it he could recognize almost every letter and knew ever letter's sound. The best part is that I don't have to make or even encourage him to watch it. He asks for it! Ever parent with a child age 2 and up needs to own this! They also have others that help put words together and learn numbers and such.

As the commenters suggested, I went to Costco and they have this DVD as well as 4 others. They are $6.99 each. (Other stores sell it for $9.99, typically). Letter Factory is the first one because it is for ages 2-5. The others are more advanced and are for ages 3-6.

I have always heard of people getting hotel rooms on Priceline and Hotwire but I have never felt comfortable taking the gamble on an unknown hotel room. Until NOW! I have recently discovered
It is a forum that posts results of what hotels people are getting when they book a priceline or a hotwire room in a certain city or area. If you create a username and ask for a bidding strategy on priceline (where you would bid on your hotel) or post the amenities and stars and price on a hotwire hotel you are looking at they will help you guess what the hotel is. I have booked 3 separate hotels recently and they were right on with each hotel guess. Of course you are still taking a gamble using Priceline and Hotwire but it is nice to see some of the results that other people have gotten when booking to give you some reassurance. All they ask is that you book your rooms through their links to Hotwire and Priceline (they must get a kickback). Otherwise it is free!

Did you know that you can TEXT Google on your cell phone and get results with the address and phone number or whatever you need for free! This is such a great alternative to 411. You need to be somewhat specific (city and state) and commas do help in my experience. You just text to 466453 ('GOOGLE' on most devices) and it sends back a text message with the info. Here is the link to read more about it.

If you don't want to text you can also call 1-800 GOOG 411 and they will connect you for free! Say good bye to $1.49 411 calls!!! Yeah! Here is the link for it.

It gives you everything you might be worried about (especially if your children want to see it). You can subscribe to a more detailed version or just go to the bottom of the screen on the home page and click "no thanks" and you will still get all of the information you would need. You just have to see a lot of ads and such on their free version.

While I am talking about movies...has anyone seen "August Rush?" I am curious if it is worth seeing and I haven't heard anything yet.

The What a Woman Wants show is going on Sept. 25-26 at the South Towne Expo Center. Friday 10-8 pm and Saturday 8-4 pm.

So...I started this blog because I love learning about new and useful things and I wanted to be able to share them with others. I am so excited to share my latest find with you.

My recent discovery is! It is a website that helps you track your money and your spending and such. I have been using Quicken but I haven't loved the format of it or the fact that it costs money to purchase and I have to pay a $3 a month fee to my bank to upload to Quicken. is entirely FREE is is very user friendly. It even sends me emails and text messages if I go over a budget category or if I have a credit card bill due soon.

Try it out and let me know what you think!

*Thanks Reese for the tip!

As a new mom I didn't realize how important it would be to keep track of all of the different times your baby eats, sleeps, poops, etc. etc. It was daunting sometimes as a sleep deprived mother to remember all of these important keys to a happy baby. Have you seen the Itzbeen baby timer? It is one of those things where you say "why didn't I think of that?" I will for sure be getting one the next time around.

Have you seen the Potty Watch? It is a little watch your child can wear that has a little timer on it. You can set the timer at 30, 60 or 90 min. intervals and it plays a little tune to remind your child to go potty. It has been nice to use with my son because I am tired of being the bad guy that makes him stop playing to go potty. Now it is the potty watch that makes him go! You can find them on the potty watch site, at One Step Ahead or several retail locations across the U.S.

If you are considering buying a new bike (and you live in proximity to Riverton, Utah) then you should check out Infinite Cycles. They have a great selection of bikes for all ages and riders as well as excellent customer service. They have a variety of price ranges and good quality stuff. I just got a bike and bike trailer from their store and my son and I have loved going on rides each morning.

A few reasons I like Infinite Cycles are that every new bike you purchase there comes with free service on the bike. You have to buy the parts but they will service your bike for free! And another thing that is pretty cool is that they have a program called "Infinite Rewards" where you can buy a $40 (2) year membership that gets you 10% back onto your membership card. You can then use it on your next purchase or save up for something big.

Have you seen the Keiki Kover yet? It is a nursing cover unlike the others out there. It is more of a poncho style and it is a great nursing cover because it gives you full coverage in the front and back and you can also use it to drape over your car seat or stroller. They have a very soft and lightweight fabric and tons of darling fabric borders to choose from. Go to their site and check them out! They are irresistable. I bought one a month ago and I am not even pregnant. I got mine at the Oh Sweet Sadie boutique but you could buy them on the Keiki Kover website.

RESTAURANT.COM has tons and tons of restaurant gift certificates that you can purchase at a discounted rate. The norm is a $25 gift certificate for $10. BUT online you can often find discount codes for 70-90% off of that price. Right now you can use code TASTY (through May 16th) for 70% off of the $10 you would normally pay and get a $25 gift certificate for $3. Be careful, though. You can't use them on holidays, you have to use them for 2 or more people and you can only use one gift certificate at a time. In Utah 2 of the restaurants you can get them for are Epic or Tiburon. 2 of my favorite restaurants. Both a little pricey but not so bad with a discount!

Use code CFFRIEND May 14-17th to save 30% off your entire purchase online at

I found these awesome flashlights at Costco the other day. They are called SolarLite and they are a solar flashlight that also has a battery backup. You can charge them with any light source (sun, lightbulbs, etc.) and they will provide 10 hrs. of light on one full solar charge. And they will hold a charge for over 3 years. They are bright because they are an LED light. They are very lightweight, durable, waterproof (up to depths of 80 feet) and they float. I bought a two pack for about $22 at my local Costco. On SolarLite's website they are $24.95 a piece! I bought them for the cars, 72 hour kits and for around the house. Of course you can never be too prepared!

Well...the Valentine Fairy visited our home last night while my son was sleeping. She stamped his cheek with a heart stamp and left a paper heart trail down the stairs and to some candy and a small toy. It was almost as fun as Christmas for our 2 1/2 year old.

Old Navy's baby and maternity sale starts today at up to 40% off. Free shipping if you spend $50 in kid, baby or maternity.

Gymboree and their cheaper sister co. Crazy 8 are both having their baby sales right now.
Gymboree's baby sale is a good sale to get some of their more expensive items at a cheaper price. Items $39.00 and under are $20 and items $19.75 and under are $10. This is a great chance to get some darling crib shoes for $10 or some of their super soft cotton blankets for $10 (both normally $19.75).
Crazy 8 has items marked down to $4.99 or $9.99.

I really like Bed Bath & Beyond. I have always loved how they would accept expired coupons and always keep several in my purse. Well...I went there yesterday and they DO NOT ACCEPT EXPIRED COUPONS anymore. I am so sad!
