SWIMWEAR

**I posted this back in February, but now everyone has all their lines out for this summer finally, so I wanted to do it again.

I have always hated swim suits, but ever since I bought my tankini from Lands End I do not completely despise them. There are a lot of new companies that make swimwear/tankinis that are fun and cute, but I love Lands End because none of the other companies compare to them in quality and fit (in my opinion). And selection...WOW! Lands End really has tons and tons of swimwear options. They have suits for all shapes and sizes. I would recommend requesting a swimwear catalog as it is a little easier to see all the options rather than on a web page. They have a lot of different tops and bottoms and even some flattering one piece suits. I love the swim mini for the bottom (skirt with bottoms attached), but they are all fun.

Here are some other good companies to find a fun and stylish suit. I recently bought a Modbe suit as well because they are really cute. I don't feel like the quality is as high as Lands End, but it is close.

**The skirt shown above is from Down East Basics and comes in white or black. I think it is so cute and would be a great staple to own.

I love Lime Ricki's suits! I couldn't find the website at first, either - it's actually spelled with an i, not a y!

this is odd. I was just going to email you and ask you if you knew anyone who sold Modbe swimwear, and then I see your latest blog. Thanks!!

I bought 2 swimsuits from LE 2 years ago and I totally LOVE them. I am really long waisted and they actually have a "long torso" size! This is especially great for us long waisted gals - but also just for extra coverage for anybody else. 2 years later, they look brand new - and believe me - during the summer I am always in the pool (or lake) and have worn them EVERYWHERE!

I just bought a Diviine ModesTee swim suit and LOVE IT! They have the cutest prints and are up with Land's end quality in my opinion. Great for me who is tall (5' 8") it covers me completely. Thanks!

I have purchased a suit from Diviine Modestee and it is the cutest suit I have ever owned. I looked around at other "modest" swimsuit companies and no one really could compare to Diviine Modestee in regards to both fashionable style and truly modest coverage. I recommend them to everyone. In fact people stop me at the pool and ask me where I got my suit all the time!

Thanks for your opinions on Diviine Modestee. I have a suit from them and it is pretty good. The skirt I bought is really thin and rides up all the time. The quality may be better this year. I bought mine last year.

I had an absolutely horrible experience with Diviine Modestee swimsuits and would recommend that no one purchase a suit from Diviine Modestee.

I ordered a dot candy print suit after seeing Diviine Modestee advertised on a TV show. The suit arrived several weeks later than promised and came with instructions indicating that the dye in the suit would bleed and that I should soak it for four hours in a vinegar solution. I followed the directions exactly and the dye in the suit still bled. I then called Diviine Modestee, reported my experience, and the customer service representative told me to soak it again in the vinegar solution to remove the dye that had already bled and put the suit in the dryer.

After soaking the suit again in a vinegar solution for several hours, the bled dye did not come out. I then called Diviine Modestee again and was told that I could return the suit for a refund or exchange the suit for a new suit and return the new suit for a refund if I didn't like it. Unfortunately, I decided to give Diviine Modestee one more chance and ordered a new suit. When the suit arrived, I didn't like it at all and returned it. When I returned the new suit, I wrote about my experience on the return form and asked for a refund.

I did not hear anything from Diviine Modestee until over two weeks after they had received my return. At that point, someone called me and told me that my return would be taken care of the next day. Two weeks later, I finally received an email informing me that I would not receive a refund of my money, despite what I was told by a customer service representative, and would instead be given a credit in the amount of my swimsuit to use at Diviine Modestee (I have a copy of this email, if you would like it).

I wasted considerable time and resources in trying to prevent bleeding in a poor quality yet expensive swimsuit and in shipping returns. I hope no one else has an experience like I did with Diviine Modestee.

I just have to say that I too had a suit from Diviine ModesTee this year that had a problem bleeding. I went into the store and they immediately without question replaced my suit for free! I have had other friends who have had the same experience with this company. They explained that the manuf made an error in one of the prints and that they were replacing anyone's suit that had this problem. I was very impressed with how they handled my situation. I have bought from this company last year as well, and only have positive things to say about them. I get compliments where ever I go on my swimming suit!

Fifties-style panel swimsuits have a very slimming effect. If you are short don’t choose a low-cut leg brief as this can make you appear dumpy. Many 50s-styles have low-legs so make sure they curve up at the front to lengthen those pins.
