MINT.COM

**Originally posted on 3/14/09

So...I started this blog because I love learning about new and useful things and I wanted to be able to share them with others. I am so excited to share my latest find with you.

My recent discovery is Mint.com! It is a website that helps you track your money and your spending and such. I have been using Quicken but I haven't loved the format of it or the fact that it costs money to purchase and I have to pay a $3 a month fee to my bank to upload to Quicken. Mint.com is entirely FREE is is very user friendly. It even sends me emails and text messages if I go over a budget category or if I have a credit card bill due soon.

Try it out and let me know what you think!

*Thanks Reese for the tip!

Hey Karen,

I really want to do this, but I'm having a hard time getting it to work. I bank with Zions and it won't let me login. Do you bank with Zions? Do you have any tips?

Sounds like a site I will check out. Have you read The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey? A very good book on getting out of debt, saving and eventually building wealth.

Also, I just came across your site and I wanted to let you know about my website, which I think will be of interest to your readers. At www.TheLiterateMother.org we objectively rate youth and young adult literature (grades 4 - 12) on a scale of 0 - 5 in the areas of language, violence, sexual content and adult themes. With this information, parents and teachers can pinpoint discussion topics and steer their children and students toward appropriate literature. Whether you would like to take a more active role in your child's book selections, or just want to be informed on the subject matter to which your young reader is exposed, you will find help on TheLiterateMother.org.
Take a look and let me know what you think.

I've been using Mint for a few months now and I love it! I feel so organized and its MUCH quicker and user friendly than Quicken was.
