VALENTINE FAIRY

Well...the Valentine Fairy visited our home last night while my son was sleeping. She stamped his cheek with a heart stamp and left a paper heart trail down the stairs and to some candy and a small toy. It was almost as fun as Christmas for our 2 1/2 year old.

So...what are your fun traditions for Valentines day? It can be with your spouse, friends, kids, etc.

What a cute idea! I wish I would have thought of that last night! We love to make sugar cookies as a family. They are a mess, but my 3 year old loves it.

The hubby and I usually go out to eat a night before or after the actual [Valentines] Day, to avoid a huge wait and also to let the kids know that we love them just as much on the actual day :-) Then on the morning of, it's pink heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast, small gifts for everyone in valentine-type bags (kind of like an Easter basket) and homemade cards. At night it's a special home-cooked gourmet dinner and fancy dessert. Also, we make enough personal Valentines to send to our far-away family members and send them off ahead of time (we use different techniques and styles every year - thanks to ideas from 'Family Fun' or the kids teachers). Oh, and of course the kids do their class valentines.... And even though I truly never expect it, my great husband surprises me with beautiful roses each year.
